Introducing Robyn Yost
A Lifelong Calling to Care
In my 20s, I felt a deep pull to volunteer for hospice, and I loved every moment I spent with patients. From painting fingernails to walking dogs or simply listening to their stories, I was nourished by the wisdom and life experiences they shared. Those moments were incredibly special and set me on the path to finding my true niche in life.
A Foundation in Mental Health & Counseling
I earned a master's degree in community counseling, which allowed me to serve as a mental health professional for 20 years. I ran a fulfilling private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and developed an eclectic, intuitive approach that drew upon decades of experience. In 2011, my father's diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and later Lewy body dementia deepened my exploration into neurology, brain function, and the gut-brain connection. At the same time, my stepmother developed COPD, heart failure, and frontotemporal dementia, which transformed our relationship and presented new challenges.
Hands-On Experience in Palliative & Hospice Care
Navigating Life's Challenges & Advocacy
After moving to Idaho, I supported my husband as his health declined, researching VA services, PTSD programs, diagnostic care, and Social Security Disability. This taught me the art of balancing support with respect for autonomy, advocating for loved ones while honoring their choices.
